| My Brothers Keeper refers to Genesis 4:8-12...the phrase my brothers keeper refers to the biblical story of Cain and Abel in the book of genesis. It is general understood to mean "responsible for the welfare of my brother." For those of you who don't know Danny (a player and a TXW umpire) was just recently diagnosed with gastric (stomach) cancer. As you can imagine this will be quite a fight for Danny and his family both mentally and financially. I ask that you please take that into consideration and come out to support Danny and give him the positive energy to push through and defeat this. Proceeds raised through this tournament will be donated directly to Danny to help offset medical costs associated with treatment. "My Brothers Keeper" When: May 19 - 20 2012 Entry Fee: $150 (umpires included). This will be a sanctioned USSSA tournament. You definitely do not want to miss the prize package for this tournament. Divisions Offered Mens Competitive Mens Recreation Coed 7/3 WE WILL CAP THIS TOURNAMENT AT 75 TEAMS SO DONT WAIT CAUSE IT WILL FILL UP. WE HAVE OVER 32 TEAMS RIGHT NOW AND TEAMS ARE LISTED ON THE USSSA WEBSITE. Special Rules: Mens Competitive: This will be an open division. This means there are no roster restrictions and homeruns will be unlimited. The only stipulation is that all homeruns hit must be purchased after hitting them to help raise additional funds for Danny. A solo bomb is $1..2 run bomb $2...3 run bomb $3..and a grand slam is $5. A scorekeeper will be assigned to each field to help the umpires keep track of the scores and amount of homeruns hit. Mens Recreation: This will be a division comprised of mostly e teams and possibly some d teams at the directors discretion. This division will be allowed 1 homerun. After that all homeruns will be an out and a $5 fee. Please lets keep this division as it was intended and keep it a true recreational division. Coed 7/3: This coed division will be comprised of a 7/3 men to women ratio. You may however play 5/5 if you wish to do so. It is just difficult for some teams to find a full squad of females to play. Home Run Derby: We will also have a homerun derby during the weekend. A specific time and format has yet to be determined. Balls will be provided and you will provide your own pitcher. The entry fee will be $10 with the 1st and 2nd place finishers receiving a new in wrapper bat with warranty.
