Thank you for considering Texas Tournament Baseball as your tournament host.Coach “Robbie” Robertson. Baseball was his gift. He played it. He taught it. He lived it. Outside of his deep love for his children the greatest joy in his life was teaching young men and women how to play and respect the game. Known for his silly looks faces & phrases Robbie had the proven ability to coach children of any age. He genuinely cared about each of them wanting and striving to help them be their best. Robbie’s life motto was “If I died tomorrow no one can say I didn’t have a good time”. Anyone who knew Robbie knew this to be true. He was a larger than life character who rarely asked for anything. He believed in giving of himself and taught his children Riley & Maggie to do the same. Sadly while coaching a game for his son’s baseball team in March 2012 Robbie suffered a stroke brought on by the effects of uncontrolled high blood pressure. He passed away a few days later leaving an extremely large void in the North Texas baseball community. Due to the overwhelming requests of fellow coaches friends & family the Coach Robbie #15 Memorial Stroke Awareness & Benefit Tournament was created. The tournament seeks to jointly raise awareness of the dangers related to High Blood Pressure & Strokes while also directly benefiting the college funds of Robbie’s young children Riley & Maggie. Tournament games will be professionally managed by Texas Tournament Baseball. This respected organization manages all team registration play and rankings. We look forward to greeting all players coaches and fans at fields across the DFW Metroplex each year during the first full weekend of March.
