This is a NIT tournament.  Final tournament standings will be posted on the National website after the tournament.

1. Rules: USSSA Baseball Rules will apply and playing rules not specifically covered therein shall follow the Official Major League Baseball Rules, unless superseded by any of the following tournament rules. The Tournament Director has the right to change the tournament format, change game times, move games and shorten games if necessary.

2. Appeals: Decision of head umpire is final, no further appeals will be allowed.

3. Innings Pitched: USSSA pitching rules apply. One out equals 1/3 inning. If a pitcher records no outs, no innings are counted against that pitcher. A pitcher may not re-enter a game as a pitcher in a game which he has already pitched in. Innings will be counted against a pitcher who pitched in a game that was forfeited. Violation of pitching rules will result in a forfeit (8 – 0). Pitching cards must be signed and turned in to the site director immediately after each game. They will be tracked and available for view on the USSSA website.

4. Lineup Options and Courtesy Runner: Teams can bat the lineup, bat 9 or bat 9 plus an EH. The use of a designated hitter (DH) is not permitted. Teams must declare which order they are going to use before the game starts and once the game starts, they must continue that for the game. Courtesy runners will be allowed for pitchers and catchers only. The courtesy runner may not be in the current lineup. If a team uses a continuous batting lineup the courtesy runner for the pitcher or catcher is the last recorded out in the lineup. If no proper courtesy runner is available, the pitcher and/or catcher must run for themselves. The same courtesy runner MAY NOT run for the pitcher and catcher in the same inning.

5. Run Rules: 15 runs after 3 innings & 8 runs after 4 innings for a 6 inning game. 15 runs after 3 innings, 12 runs after 4 innings, & 8 runs after 5 innings for a 7 inning game.

6. Non-Roster Players: No non-roster player will be allowed in the game. If a non-roster player participates in the game that team will forfeit that and any other game the non-roster player participated in. All players MUST be on the USSSA roster.

7. Umpires: One umpire will be used for 8 and 9 year old games. Two umpires will be used for all games pending availability.

8. Coin Flip: Home team will be determined by coin flip prior to game time. Home team is official book. The higher seeded team will be the home team in bracket play. Home team will be responsible for official pitching card.

9. Game Start Time: Official game start time will begin when the pitcher throws the first warm up pitch.

10. Length of Games for Round Robin Play: Length of Games for Round Robin Play: All games will be 1 hour and 40 minutes or 6 innings in length (8U-12) or 7 innings for 13U and 14U, unless there is a tie. If a tie occurs and time has not expired, we will use the California rule (the last 2 (two) batters from the previous inning to be runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out) for extra innings. If a tie occurs and time has expired, each team will be awarded ½ toward wins and equal runs allowed. If due to weather, games may be shortened or canceled by order of the Tournament Director/Coordinator.

11. Length of Games Pool Play followed by Bracket Games): Length of Games for Pool Play followed by Bracket Play: All games for pool and bracket play will be 1 hour and 40 minutes or 6 innings in length (8U-12) or 7 innings (13U and 14U) in length or whichever comes first. Pool play games can end in a tie, bracket play games will continue until there is a winner using the California rule (the last 2 (two) batters from the previous inning to be runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out). The Championship game will not have a time limit and will continue to play until there is a winner. Extra innings will be regular baseball. If due to weather, games may be shortened or canceled by order of the Tournament Director/Coordinator.

12. Forfeit: Game time is forfeit time. Unless the team is traveling from another ballgame at another field/ball park. A team that forfeits a game is still required to play the remainder of its pool games. Score of forfeited game is 8 – 0. A team that forfeits a game will be placed in last place overall in the tournament. A forfeited game due to an illegal player will not eliminate it from the tournament, but will be a loss (8 – 0). A forfeit due to a pitching violation will result in a loss (8 – 0), the team will not be eliminated from the tournament.

13. Weather: If a game is called due to rain or other acts of God & can’t be resumed, it is a regulation game if: In a 6 inning game, if three innings have been completed or if the home team has scored more runs in two and one-half innings than the visiting team has scored in three innings or if the home team scores one or more runs in its half of the third to tie the score. In a 7 inning game, if four innings have been completed or if the home team has scored more runs in three and one-half innings than the visiting team has scored in four complete innings or if the home team scores one or more runs in its half of the fourth inning to tie the score. By order of the Mayor if tornado sirens sound all ball fields will be cleared and everyone will seek shelter.

14. Infield Practice: No pre-game infield practice will be allowed on any tournament field.

15. Base Path and Pitching Distances: Base path and pitching distances will be 60’ and 40’ for the 8 year old division, 65' and 46' for the 9 year and 10 year old divisions, 70' and 50' for the 11 and 12 year old divisions; 80’ and 54’ for the 13 year old division, 90' and 60’ for the 14 year old division.

If a coach or player is ejected a second time, the coach or player is ineligible for the remainder of the tournament. Umpires, Site Directors and the Tournament Director reserve the right to eject any participant, coach, or spectator for unruly behavior. Failure to comply will mean an automatic forfeit. The player, coach, or fan will leave the playing area, if necessary will leave the park completely (including the parking lot).

17. Tie breaker rules: The following rules will be used to determine the team seeding. Win/loss, head to head (unless 3 or more teams have equal number of wins-then head to head is void), runs allowed (doesn’t revert back to head to head), run differential and coin flip.

18. USSSA Bat Rules will be enforced.
